Suzanne Heim-Bowen has worked in education for over 30 years as a school psychologist and a special education teacher for students with severe behavior disorders, autism, intellectual delays, learning disabilities and significant mental health issues. She has been an instructor at Cal State East Bay, teaching classes for prospective school psychologists in the assessment of students with severe needs. Ms. Heim-Bowen holds a M.S. degree in Special Education from Dominican University and M.S. in Clinical Child Psychology and Counseling from Cal State East Bay. Ms. Heim-Bowen became interested in the education of students in court and community schools while working for Contra Costa County Office of Education as a school psychologist at Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Center and at Contra Costa Juvenile Hall. Since her retirement she continues to be involved in education as a field supervisor for Brandman University and is a Licensed Educational Psychologist.
