Karl Livengood
Commissioner
Karl Livengood is currently serving as an active Commissioner on the Commission. Karl is also a former Co-Chair of the Commission.
Karl Livengood is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker who migrated to California in 1962 to work with street gangs in the Mission District of San Francisco. He later worked as a family and group therapist in Marin County, and subsequently directed a day center for adult mentally challenged and mentally ill clients located in Trinity County. He followed his interest in youth to volunteer at the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation as a senior tutor (mentor) and more recently has initiated and coordinated the Fine Arts Program at Orin Allen staffed by volunteers from the Rossmoor community and the Mt. Diablo Unitarian-Universalist Church in Walnut Creek. He has a deep commitment to all youth especially those involved in the Justice System.
