Charlie Gu is a junior attending Monte Vista High School in Danville. Charlie’s interest in working with children primarily started through his passion for teaching and nonprofit management. He was the lead curriculum director and public speaking instructor at iBest Learning Facility for 2 years, teaching public speaking classes and organizing summer camps for elementary school students. Charlie’s also involved on the executive team of Nanoseed, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which provides scholarships and grants to disadvantaged students in rural China. He’s excited to serve on the JJC to continue advocating for disadvantaged youth. In his spare time, Charlie loves watching Shark Tank, playing chess, and experimenting with software development.
Charles Gu is a currently active Commissioner on the Contra Costa Juvenile Justice Commission. He was sworn into the Commission on March 4, 2020. His term expires March 4, 2024. He is currently serving in one of the seats designated for “persons who are between 14 and 21 years of age,” pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 225.
